YAMAGUCHI, Japan - A diary written by Mitsuo Ozaki (1902-1985), a Japanese government official sent to Afghanistan in the 1930s, has been found in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The diary suggests that the Afghan government became irritated with Japan over its espionage activities directed against the Soviet Union prior to World War II. Ozaki's son Yukinori shows the diary, which he found at his home in Hofu, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
