US: Damaging Thunderstorms Batter Fairfax County, Virginia

Severe thunderstorms swept through Fairfax County, Virginia during the evening commute, knocking out power to more than 27,000 customers and downing trees and wires across multiple communities. The Burke area was among the hardest hit, with reports of roof damage and tornado-like destruction attributed to straight-line winds.
