Colombia: Violent Clashes at Bogota Arena Lead to One Death

Violent clashes erupted at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá on Wednesday night, August 6, ahead of a scheduled concert by the Argentine cumbia villera band Damas Gratis. According to reports, the unrest involved rival groups of football supporters. The event, which had sold 8,000 tickets, was canceled before it began. The violence resulted in one fatality, at least five people injured by knife, and dozens more sustaining minor injuries.
