Ichinose bridge and Hotarujaya. This area, called Ichinose, was famous for its fireflies ( hotaru ) and was counted among the eight best scenes of Nagasaki. Hotarujaya (teahouse) was situated at the entrance to Nagasaki and served as a place to bid farewell to travellers leaving the city. Ichinose Bridge was built through private funding by the Chinese interpreter Chen Dao-Long.
