RECAP: Taiwan Hit by M6.6 Earthquake Off Northeast Coast, Tremors Felt in Taipei

A magnitude 6.6 earthquake hit Taiwan just off its northeast coast late Saturday, December 27, about 32 kilometers from the coastal town of Yilan, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). Tremors were felt across the island, including Taipei.
