TOKYO, Japan - DDI Corp., IDO Corp. and KDD Corp. announced they have agreed to merge into a single company Oct. 1 next year. DDI is a long-distance carrier belonging to the Kyocera Corp. group, while IDO is a mobile phone operator affiliated with Toyota Motor Corp. KDD is Japan's largest international telecom carrier, in which Toyota is a major shareholder. OSAKA, Japan - Two types of digital cell phone sold by IDO Corp. and eight companies under DDI Corp.'s Cellular Telephone group fail to display the proper date on Dec. 31. The cell phones displays Dec. 31, 2000 instead of Dec. 31, 1999 when turned off and running on backup power. The phones are the C102K and C-107K made by Kyocera Corp.
