IITATE, Japan - The village of Iitate, Fukushima Prefecture, is added on April 22, 2011, along with some other municipalities outside a 20-kilometer radius of the crisis-hit Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant to the list of areas covered by the Japanese government's evacuation directive, due to concerns over high cumulative levels of radiation.

IITATE, Japan - A radiation reader indicates the level in the village of Iitate, Fukushima Prefecture, is 26 microsieverts per hour on the evening of April 13, 2011. The village is included in the government's new evacuation order due to high amounts of cumulative radioactive materials beyond the evacuation zone of a 20-kilometer radius from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant which was crippled by the massive quake and tsunami on March 11.

IITATE, Japan - Cattle farmer Kenichi Hasegawa disposes of breast milk he just expressed from his cows on March 27, 2011, in his farm in the village of Iitate, Fukushima Prefecture, located some 40 kilometers from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant crippled by a massive earthquake and tsunami. He said he keeps on expressing milk just to dump it as the disaster destroyed infrastructure for milk shipment and the government instructed restrictions on the shipment of local dairy products due to radiation contamination concerns.
