Paratroopers perform during celebrations to mark Victory Day at the old airport in Sher-e-Bangal Nagar in Dhaka, Bangladesh, 16 December 2025. As part of the celebration marking 54 years of independence, 54 paratroopers began a skydiving display while holding the national flags. The event has been organized by the Bangladesh Army, Air Force, Navy and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). The Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 resulted in the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistani occupation after an almost nine-month-long armed conflict.
