On March 6, 2026, an unusual pre-dawn hailstorm struck Kunming, Yunnan, jolting residents awake with a sudden roar. Countless ice pellets hammered the ground and rooftops, their sharp clatter echoing through the silent early morning streets. The storm lasted roughly 20 minutes, blanketing surfaces in white.
