Woman operates intercom at senior residence in Yokohama

Kikuyo Ikemoto, an 84-year-old resident at a senior living residence in Yokohama, southwest of Tokyo, operates an intercom in April 2015. All rooms in her residence are equipped with "smart" sensors which monitor electricity and water consumption as well as room temperature and humidity to enable elderly care service staff to know about unusual conditions.
