Kobe striker Ilhan leaves Japan to get knee checked

KOBE, Japan - Vissel Kobe's Turkish striker Ilhan Mansiz (in file photo) left Japan to have his sore right knee examined in Italy, Kobe officials said on March 23. The 2002 World Cup forward, who joined Kobe for a J-League record fee of $4.5 million in February, complained of discomfort in the knee after training on March 21.
