SASEBO, Japan - The 3,850-ton destroyer Asakaze of Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) leaves the MSDF's Sasebo port in Nagasaki Prefecture on July 1 for the Indian Ocean. The Asakaze and the 4,555-ton destroyer Inazuma, which left Kure port in Hiroshima Prefecture the same day, will replace two vessels that are providing logistic support for the U.S. war in Afghanistan.
