India: Nine Dead After Sleeper Bus Catches Fire on Yamuna Expressway Near Jewar

A private sleeper bus travelling from Delhi towards Mahoba caught fire near kilometre 33 of the Yamuna Expressway close to Jewar on September 23. The fire reportedly started near the driver's cabin and rapidly spread through the vehicle as passengers attempted to escape. Nine passengers were later declared dead at a hospital in Jewar, while others were injured. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire.
