Actress Isuzu Yamada dies at 95

TOKYO, Japan - File photo taken in February 2001 shows actress Isuzu Yamada in Tokyo holding the badge of the Order of Culture she received the previous year. Yamada, known for a variety of theater and film roles including some under legendary director Akira Kurosawa, died of multiple organ failure at a Tokyo hospital on July 9, 2012. She was 95.

At the ceremony, which started at 10:30 a.m., the emperor decorated each of the recipients, who then received a certificate from Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori.
