4 injured in pileup on Tohoku expressway

MORIOKA, Japan - Four men were injured, one seriously, Dec. 12 in a pileup involving about 30 vehicles on the Tohoku expressway in Iwate Prefecture, police say. A large truck collided into an express highway bus bound for Sendai from Odate, Akita Prefecture, at around 8:50 a.m. in the town of Ashiro, and other vehicles, including trailers and passenger cars, became involved in a chain collision, the police said. The photo was supplied by the Iwate Nippo newspaper.
