Japan gov't sets up cabin attendant inspection team

TOKYO, Japan - File photo of a fiberglass panel found on a farmland in Katori, Chiba Prefecture in May. A maintenance error by Japan Airlines led to the fall of two fiberglass panels from a JALways plane during a flight from Narita International Airport to Sydney in May, JAL and the transport ministry said June 21. JALway is a subsidiary of Japan Airlines.

FUKUOKA, Japan - Engineers and airline officials check the left engine of a JALways airplane at Fukuoka airport on Aug. 13. Metal fragments from the Honolulu-bound aircraft fell on residential areas of the city of Fukuoka after one of its three engines burst into flames minutes after takeoff late Aug. 12, leaving some people on the ground slightly injured.
