Zachranka (Emergency) app, Slovakian mountain rescue service

The Czech Zachranka (Emergency) app through which people can call help has been launched in the Slovak mountains and is connected to the mountain rescue service there, emergency workers have said when introducing it in Novy Hrozenkov at the Czech-Slovak border on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. They say one of the greatest advantages is that the application helps locate its user, which is particularly helpful in the mountains. The app was launched in the Czech Republic in 2016 and has almost 800,000 users with more than 12,300 emergency calls this year so far. It unites the emergency services, the Czech mountain rescue service, the water rescue service as well as the Austrian rescue service.
