On January 28, 2024, the Syrian Civil Defense, in partnership with artist Salam Hamid, launched an initiative to paint murals on walls in areas impacted by the earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023, affecting southern Turkey and northern Syria. Recently, Salam Hamid created a poignant mural on a school wall in Jindires, capturing the Syrian experience during the disaster.
