After WWII in 1946 he became secretary-general of the Czechoslovak communist party (KSC), he stayed in this function untill 1951. By the end of 1951 within the communist party started a big trial against so-called enemies within the party. Slansky was named as a main character of the conspiracy. The whole campaign was distinctively Anti-semitic. Slansky was arrested on November 23, 1951, after several hearings he attempted in the prison to commit suicide. Carefully fabricated trial against seditious conspiracy started on November 20, 1952 and after one-week proceedings the judge pronounced a verdict.
