Teachers protesting on Toompea Hill

22.01.2024, Tallinn. Hundreds of people gathered in front of the Riigikogu to protest against the cancellation of teachers' pay raises. Educators hope the rally and open-ended strike, which starts today, will make the government stick to its pre-election promises. Estonian Educational Personnel Union ( EHL) is calling for general education school teachers to be paid a minimum salary of 1,950 per month.
