Remnants of corridor in ruins of ancient capital found in Kyoto

A representative of the Muko City Center for Archeological Operations shows during a press preview on Oct. 22, 2015, two places where foundation stones for pillars of ancient capital buildings were installed. The ruins are remnants of a corridor surrounding the "daigokuden" main building at the Nagaokakyo ruins in Muko, Kyoto Prefecture, western Japan. Nagaokakyo was an ancient Japanese capital from 784 to 794, established by Emperor Kanmu. (Kyodo) ==Kyodo
