According to the preliminary report, the accident occurred on a highway in Karawang regency when a minibus with nine people on board was about to pull over on the road shoulder, but was suddenly hit by a bus behind. The bus was also hit by another minibus behind, said Wirdhanto Hadicaksono, Karawang police chief, adding that the two minibuses were on fire after the crash. The new vehicle, called the Kijang Innova (photo), is powered by either a 2.0-liter gasoline engine or a 2.5-liter diesel engine. The Kijang Innova is one of five multipurpose models developed by Toyota for production mainly in Indonesia, Thailand, Argentina and South Africa, the automaker said.
