YOKOHAMA, Japan - Japanese pop duo Puffy, who have been gaining fans in the United States through an animated television show featuring them, were appointed Jan. 16 as goodwill ambassadors to the United States to promote tourist visits to Japan. Ami Onuki (R), 32, and Yumi Yoshimura (C), 30, received their letter of appointment from Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Kazuo Kitagawa (L) as part of the government's ''Visit Japan Campaign.''
