The artist belonged to the Sixtiers, a group of artists in the 1960s who revived Ukrainian culture during the Khrushchev Thaw. During the occupation of Bucha by Russian forces at the beginning of Russias full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Liubov Panchenko was forced to remain inside her house for a month without food.
