Samawah stable, out of harm's way, GSDF unit leader says

YAMAGATA, Japan - Col. Kizuku Fukuda, the leader of Japanese ground troops deployed in the southern Iraqi city of Samawah, said Dec. 13 the security situation there is stable and poses no danger. He made the remarks from Samawah during a videoconference with reporters at the Ground Self-Defense Force 6th Division in Higashine, Yamagata Prefecture.
