Ex-Japanese, British soldiers in 1944 Imphal Battle meet

SHONAI, Japan - Roy Welland (L front), a former British soldier, visits Shonai town in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, and meets Koichiro Wajima (R front), a former soldier of the now-defunct Imperial Japanese Army, on Oct. 25, 2014, as this year marks the 70th anniversary of the 1944 Battle of Imphal between the Japanese military and the Allied forces in India.
