Traditional theater built in 1933 reborn in central Japan

KANAZAWA, Japan - The Awazu "Embujo" traditional performing art theater at the Awazu hot-spring resort in Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture, is shown in its restored form on Aug. 28, 2014. The theater, built in 1933, was resurrected for the first time in some 70 years this year, helping activate the economy of the central Japan hot spring village facing the Sea of Japan.

The coast guard found a wooden boat carrying the nine the previous day in the sea off the Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa.

KANAZAWA, Japan - Mitsuo Hirose, representing some 1,600 plaintiffs, speaks at a gathering April 16 in Kanazawa after the Kanazawa branch of the Nagoya High Court raised the damages, to 1,118 million yen, the state must pay 1,580 people living around the Air Self-Defense Force base in Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture, over noise pollution from air drills.
