Lafcadio Hearn gallery opens in Greece

LEFKADA, Greece - Bon Koizumi, a great grandson of Lafcadio Hearn, a writer who devoted his life to introducing Japan to the West in the 19th century, speaks at the opening on July 4, 2014, of a gallery on the Greek island of Lefkada. Launched on the 110th anniversary of Hearn's death, the new gallery at Hearn's birthplace exhibits his memorabilia including a manuscript of "Kwaidan" (1904), a collection of old Japanese ghost stories and one of Hearn's most famous works.
