Prince Tomohito undergoes surgery

TOKYO, Japan - Kyoundo Hospital director Satoshi Ebihara briefs reporters on the operation for throat cancer on Prince Tomohito of Mikasa, a cousin of Emperor Akihito, at the Imperial Household Agency in Tokyo on Dec. 14, 2010. He said the 64-year-old prince had two cancerous lesions removed during surgery performed the same day by Ebihara at the hospital in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward.
