OITA, Japan - A filling station in the city of Oita in northeastern Kyushu marks up its gasoline retail prices as crude oil futures hit a record intraday high of 42,310 yen per kiloliter in Tokyo on Aug. 31. The intraday high for the benchmark September contract for Middle Eastern crude oil was up the limit-high of 1,000 yen from the previous day's close. One kiloliter equals 6.29 barrels.
