GENEVA, Switzerland - Photo shows representatives from least developed countries (LDCs), who participated in a seminar held recently in Geneva by the World Trade Organization (WTO). Obuchi offers better market access for LDCs

BANGKOK, Thailand - Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi makes a speech at the 10th general assembly of the U.N. Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), which opens Feb. 12 and runs through Feb. 19. He said Japan intends to offer special treatment for essentially all products from least-developed countries to help restore their confidence in the international trading system.
