As the first historical museum of Cyprus, the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia presents the history and social development of Nicosia from the Chalcolithic period (3,000 B.C.) to the present day. Founded in 1984, it is named after its donor Anastasios G. Leventis Foundation which bought and restored the building and is administered by the Municipality of Nicosia.
