Humpback Whale Appears On Marmadeiro Beach - Spain

Volunteers of Civil Protection of Ferrol and the Coordinadora para o Estudo dos Mamíferos Mariños (CEMMA) examine a specimen of humpback whale that has been stranded on the beach of Marmadeiro, on June 27, 2023, in Ferrol, A Coruña, Galicia (Spain). Late yesterday, Monday, June 26th, 112 was alerted that there was a dead whale stranded on the shore of Marmadeiro beach. Volunteers from the Civil Protection of Ferrol and the Coordinadora para o Estudo dos Mamíferos Mariños (CEMMA) have tied the animal to the land so that the tide does not take it away and have catalogued it as a specimen of humpback whale, a species in danger of extinction and one of the six types of whales that can be seen in Galicia.
