China: Shenzhen High-Rise Fire Drill Simulates Real Emergency With Smoke and Tech

This is the intense moment that a swarm of drones and robots were deployed during a fire drill at an office building, drawing attention from nearby residents. On June 12, 2025, in Shenzhen, Guangdong, the video showed thick smoke billowing from a high-rise at the Jingji Smart Park in Longgang District. Multiple fire trucks were parked outside the building as onlookers gathered. In a striking scene, drones hovered in formation while firefighting robots moved in, simulating a coordinated emergency response. The realistic display led many passersby to believe an actual fire was underway. According to the fire department, the drill was meant to test the integration of new technologies such as drones and robotic units in emergency scenarios. Officials emphasized there was no real danger and urged the public not to panic.
