Ultra-localized rain was observed in a housing estate in Mianyang, Sichuan on July 7, 2024. The rain only fell on a small portion of a street while the surrounding area remained dry. Ms. Yang was walking on the road when she unexpectedly encountered the rain. At first, she thought that nearby residents were pouring water from a building above. However, she soon realized that the rain was actually a localized phenomenon after she looked up, as she wasn't close to any buildings.
