Kangaroo escapes from zoo, recaptured in rice field

MORIYAMA, Japan - A male kangaroo is recaptured and brought back to a zoo in Moriyama, Shiga Prefecture, on Sept. 29, 2010, after escaping the previous day. The male kangaroo made his getaway soon after arriving from another zoo in Tochigi Prefecture and was found five hours later in a rice field some 500 meters away.

'Steed' recycled bags prove hit at online market

OTSU, Japan - An aerial photo taken Dec. 6 shows a segment of the Ise remains at Moriyama, Shiga Prefecture, where traces of two large buildings dating from the middle of the second century have been found. City education board officials said the buildings may have been part of an area used for sacred rites.
