People receiving the aid have expressed their gratitude. SOUNDBITE (Dari): ABDUL MATIN MURADIANI, Aid receiver "The assistance sent by China is helpful to maintain our daily life. We are poor, but we feel relieved now with the aid." More than 120 families were affected by the fire that burned their houses to ashes in Bala Mardian Village of Faizabad district some three weeks ago. The fire, which started on Aug. 8, engulfed all over Bala Mardian village, leaving several hundred families displaced.
