(240402) -- BEIJING, April 2, 2024 (Xinhua) -- An aerial drone photo taken on April 1, 2024 shows the Maerdang Hydropower Station in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Qinghai Province. The first unit of the Maerdang Hydropower Station, the highest-altitude facility of its kind on the upper reaches of the Yellow River, was connected to the grid in Qinghai Province on Monday. With all units put into use in December, the station is expected to generate an average of 7.3 billion kWh of electricity per year. (Xinhua/Zhang Long)
