On Jan. 25, the Japanese Olympic Committee officially submitted Osaka as its candidate to bid for the right to host the 2008 Games. Osaka joins Beijing, Paris, Toronto, Istanbul, Seville and Havana as cities that have officially announced their intentions to bid for the 2008 Games.
