China: Stunning Fireball Meteor Lights Up Sky Over Maoming, Guangdong

This is the unexpected moment that a resident witnessed a rare celestial event as a brilliant fireball meteor streaked across the sky, momentarily lighting up the area as if it had been daytime. On May 28, 2025, at approximately 9:33 PM local time, in Maoming, Guangdong, the dashcam footage captured a sudden flash of light in the sky. The video showed the night sky abruptly lit up, accompanied by a loud bang, as a fireball meteor tore through the atmosphere. The Maoming Emergency Management Bureau confirmed that the event had not been caused by lightning and advised residents not to panic, as no accidents or injuries had been reported. The video ended with the fireball fading from view, and the night sky returning to darkness.

China: Tornado Hits Xinyi in Maoming, Sparks Fly as Power Lines Knocked Down

This is the terrifying moment that a tornado swept through Maoming, sending sparks flying as it likely tore down power lines. On Tuesday, May 20,2025, between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., the video showed a powerful tornado forming in Lixu Community, Yudu Subdistrict, Xinyi City. Dark clouds churned overhead as the twister tore across the area, with visible sparks suggesting that electrical wires had been brought down in the chaos. The swirling column of wind stirred dust and debris, while frightened voices were heard in the background as the tornado intensified. According to on-site confirmation by staff from the Xinyi Meteorological Bureau, the tornado caused damage in parts of the city, particularly to a furniture factory housed in a metal structure. The video ended with the tornado moving further into the distance, leaving behind a trail of wreckage and anxious onlookers.
