US: Powerful Wind Gusts Tear Through Ohio, Kicking up Dust and Reducing Visibility

A powerful burst of wind tore across Northeast Ohio on Friday, March 13, with near-hurricane-force gusts as high as 85 mph recorded in Cleveland. The storm knocked out power to thousands of customers, downing trees and power lines, and overturning semi-trucks across several counties.

US: Powerful ‘Kona’ Storm Batters Hawaii, Triggering State of Emergency

A powerful 'Kona' storm battered the Hawaiian Islands, bringing dangerous flooding and wind gusts over 100 mph, under a statewide State of Emergency declared by Governor Josh Green. Widespread power outages were reported across the islands on Saturday, March 14, with Oahu remaining under a flood watch throughout the day.

US: Powerful Winds Sweep Across Indiana, Overturning Trucks on Highways

Powerful winds swept across Indiana on Friday, March 13, knocking out power to thousands of customers, overturning multiple semi-trucks on highways, and disrupting travel including South Shore train service. Numerous calls for service were reported throughout the region for crashes, and downed trees and power lines.

US: High Winds Batter Chicago Area, Bringing Widespread Damage

On Friday, March 13, strong winds swept through the Chicago area, knocking out power to thousands of customers, tearing the roof off of a north suburban school, downing trees, and causing flight delays, while a High Wind Warning remained in effect throughout much of the day. This video shows a vehicle that was overturned by strong winds on I-57 south of Kankakee.
