Severe thunderstorms tore across North Texas on the night of Wednesday, March 4, causing widespread damage and historic rainfall totals. Roofs were ripped apart, highways were submerged, and neighborhoods were left reeling in the aftermath. Torrential downpours led to dangerous flash flooding, especially along Interstate 45 in Hutchins. Footage shared online shows sections of the freeway transformed into what appears to be a flowing river, with multiple vehicles stranded.

Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano erupted again on Tuesday, September 2, sending lava up to 330 feet (100 meters) into the air from its summit crater. This marks the 32nd eruption since December, all contained within Halemaumau Crater in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Lava emerged from multiple vents, including the north, south, and a central vent. Kilauea, one of the world’s most active volcanoes, is on Hawaii Island, about 200 miles south of Honolulu.
