The Russian lieutenant has been actively cooperating with the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine since June 2023. He convinced 11 Russian servicemen to surrender and voluntarily guided them into captivity. When the life of Danil Alfyorov was under threat, the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces evacuated the Russian officer to the Ukraine-controlled territory.
