China's Ding gets over 75-kg title, sets world record

OSAKA, Japan - China's Ding Meiyuan captures the over 75-kg title with a 285-kg total after lifting a world record 160.5 kg in the clean and jerk in the women's heavyweight division at the Asian weightlifting championships at Osaka's Nagai stadium gymnasium on May 6. In the over 75-kg, Taiwanese Chen Hsiao-lien was a distant second behind Ding with 257.5-kg, followed by Tang Weifang of China in third with 250 kg.
