Kumamoto City unveils new tram to press

KUMAMOTO, Japan 25 Kyodo - The Kumamoto city government unveils a new tram to the press on Sept. 12, 2014, in the southwestern Japanese city. The tramcar was designed by Eiji Mitooka, designer of Kyushu Railway Co.'s luxury sleeper train.

When Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra visited Japan in April 2012, she was impressed by the bullet train services operated by JR Kyushu, both in their technical and design aspects. She then invited JR Kyushu and Mitooka to exhibit their successful experience in Thailand.
