A small plane with two people onboard made an emergency landing on I-95 near Cocoa on Monday evening, December 8, striking a Toyota Camry. The car’s 57-year-old driver suffered minor injuries, while the pilot and passenger were uninjured. Lanes were briefly closed but later reopened. US: Magnitude 4.3 Earthquake Jolts San Francisco Bay Area

A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck the San Francisco Bay Area shortly before 3 a.m. Monday, with its epicenter about a mile east of Berkeley. The quake was felt across a wide area, including San Francisco, Sausalito, Santa Rosa, and Santa Cruz. About 23,000 people reported feeling the shaking. About 20,000 fireworks had been scheduled, but the blaze — reportedly caused by a launch system malfunction — continued firing briefly despite attempts to stop it. The fire was extinguished by Tuesday morning, and police and the coast guard are investigating.
