A memorial plaque remembering the story of the German family of Elisabeth Morche and her six sons, who all fought fascism in Germany, Czechia and then on both the eastern and western fronts during World War Two, was unveiled in Stvolinky today, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. The three oldest sons were born in Stvolinky. Stvolinky Mayor Pavlina Istokova (photo) said the story was half forgotten in the village. We heard of some such story but because the deportation of German was really hard after the war and only about three families remained here, the history was severed, she said.
