A man in Jinzhong, Shanxi, rushed to save four people trapped in a crashed, smoke-filled vehicle on November 30, 2025. The doors were jammed and the passengers unconscious, so he smashed a window and pulled them out. Just three minutes later, the car burst into flames as the rescued victims received help on the roadside.

UK: Fire Breaks Out at Under-Construction Glasgow Luxury Flats

A major fire broke out Monday afternoon, December 1, at the Park Pavilions luxury apartment development, an eight-story building under construction in Glasgow’s Battlefield area. Smoke was seen billowing from the penthouse, and a window frame reportedly fell as the flames intensified. Seven to eight fire engines and a high-reach vehicle responded, and firefighters brought the blaze under control with no reported injuries.

RECAP: Hundreds Dead in Sri Lanka’s Worst Flooding in Decades

Sri Lanka has declared a state of emergency after Cyclone Ditwah triggered catastrophic flooding across the country. At least 410 people have been killed and 366 remain missing. Floodwaters in Colombo peaked overnight, and while levels have begun to recede, large parts of the capital and surrounding areas remain buried in mud, with the full extent of the damage still unclear. More than 148,000 people have been evacuated to temporary shelters, and the military has deployed helicopters and boats for rescue operations and aid delivery. The disaster is Sri Lanka’s worst since the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
