Canada: Nova Scotia Declares Emergency as Flooding Batters Cape Breton

Record rainfall caused severe flooding on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, on Saturday, September 5, damaging roads, culverts and bridges and prompting local states of emergency in Inverness, Richmond and Victoria counties. A woman's death has also been reported, possibly linked to the flooding.
