A huge blaze at a waste facility in Onehunga sent thick, black smoke into the sky over Auckland on Wednesday, February 7. Neighboring establishments were evacuated and residents in the vicinity were urged to close windows and doors due to the smoke from burning wood chips. Fire crews were able to contain the blaze but were expected to remain at the scene through tomorrow.
